Jet Airways plane lands under "partial emergency" conditions, pax safe

The aircraft was airborne for 15 minutes before it headed back and landed safely at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here.

KOLKATA: A Silchar-bound Jet Airways flight from the city carrying 70 passengers on board returned here under "partial emergency" conditions due to a hydraulic problem in the engine, sources said.

The aircraft was airborne for 15 minutes before it headed back and landed safely at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here, said sources at the airport.

Jet Airways confirmed the incident. "Local standby was declared at 11:16 A.M. for the Jet Airways flight 9W-2881 (an ATR aircraft) after the pilot noticed hydraulic failure and decided to take back the aircraft," sources said.

All the passengers were safe and the local standby was withdrawn at 11.45 A.M., they added.
