Jet Airways' pilots forgot to maintain cabin pressure, passenger loses hearing

The incident happened two months back, according to a report.

In a shocking incident, a person claimed to have lost his hearing ability completely after the flight in which he was travelling faced a sudden drop in cabin pressure.

The incident happened in September 20 this year when several persons travelling in a Mumbai-Jaipur flight of Jet Airways got injured. One of the passengers, Mukesh Sharma, has now been diagnosed with permanent hearing loss, reported the Hindustan Times.

"Thirty out of 166 passengers of the Mumbai-Jaipur flight (9W 697) suffered headache, nose and ear bleeding after the pilots forgot to switch on the system to maintain cabin pressure," added the report.

Soon after the incident, the flight returned to Mumbai and the injured were taken to hospital. But as per the report, none have received any compensation from the airline and many of them are now preparing paperwork to file a case against Jet Airways.

Jet Airways has not reacted to the news at the time of writing this story.
