Jet Airways' on-time performance soars to 88%

MUMBAI: On-time performance of private sector Jet Airways soared to 88 per cent while its wholly-owned subsidiary Jet Lite's performance went up to 89 per cent in May, the company said today.

The two emerged as toppers among all the domestic airlines operating in India in respect of on-time performance as per the figures released by the Director General of Civil Aviation (DCGA).

"With a dedicated staff, the airline has achieved a phenomenal growth factor owing to its operational efficiencies and sound line maintenance practices. May has been a peak season and Jet Airways has risen to the occasion to ensure that the guests are on time at their destinations," Jet Airways' Chief Commercial Officer, Sudheer Raghavan, said in a statement.

In May, Jet Airways' carried 8.69 lakh passengers, registering growth of 41.2 per cent as compared to the same period last year with a seat factor of 82.5 per cent. While Jet Lite posted a seat factor of 85.3 per cent during the same period carrying over 4.02-lakh passengers, the company said.
