Jet Airways aims to finalise 75 plane order by March end: CEO

HYDERABAD: Jet Airways aims to finalise an order for 75 narrow-bodied planes by the end of this fiscal year, its CEO said Thursday.

Vinay Dube was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of Wings India 2018. He didn’t specify the plane-manufacturer or make of the aircraft.

Jet, India’s second biggest airline by market share, had on October 2017 announced an order for 75 180-seater Boeing 737 Max planes. The order referred to by Dube Thursday will double that number. The airline currently has close to 120 mostly Boeing planes in its fleet.

Jet will likely use the planes on domestic as well as shot haul international routes, even as the airline looks to connect to long-haul destinations via commercial agreements with its partners, Air France-KLM.

Dube said the airline is as yet undecided on whether to take the long pending deliveries of its ordered Boeing 787 Dreamliner widebodied planes.
