Jazeera Airways begins operations

The Kuwait-based budget airline, Jazeera Airways, on Wednesday commenced its operations on the Kuwait-Kochi sector.

KOCHI: The Kuwait-based budget airline, Jazeera Airways, on Wednesday commenced its operations on the Kuwait-Kochi sector.
In the inaugural flight, 110 passengers arrived from Kuwait and 124 left for the Gulf nation, airport sources said.
The flight was received by the Managing Director of the Cochin International Airport Ltd Shreeram Bharath, Airport Director A C K Nair and other senior officials, they said.
The private airline is operating Airbus 320 on the Kuwait-Kochi route. The aircraft has 147 economy class seats and 12 business class seats, sources added.
The airways was keen on thrice-a-week service - Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Jazeera is the 14th foreign airline operating from Cochin Airport at nearby Nedumbassery. There are six national airlines connecting Kochi to various destinations.
