International Airport to levy Rs 375 UDF on domestic fliers
The Civil Aviation Ministry has cleared a proposal by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited to levy user development fee (UDF) of Rs 375 on domestic passengers.
Consequent to the approval received from the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation, we will be levying a user development fee Rs 375 per head, to all domestic outbound passnegers. The fee shall be applicable with effect from 0001 hrs, August 22,2008, the GMR Group said in a release here today.
The UDF will be collected at the airport, before issuing boarding pass, from all passengers not charged UDF as part of the ticket issued to them by the airlines/agents.
Passengers are requested to pay the UDF at the counters before proceeding for check-in. The departing passengers will have the choice to pay either in cash or credit/debit card, the release said.
GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited is the developer and operator of the new international airport here.
Viswanath Attaluri, Chief Commercial Officer, GMR HIAL, said that the levy of UDF has become necessary in view of the huge investments made by the GMR-led consortium for creating the world-class facilities for the passengers who use the greenfield airport.
