MUMBAI: A pilot landing an IndiGo flight at the Mumbai airport Tuesday evening spotted what he later decribed as a drone.

The security control room at the airport informed the airport police that at 5:55 pm, Asish Ranjan, who was manning the Delhi-Mumbai flight 6E 755 saw a "drone" 100 feet below the flight.

He spotted the drone-blue and pink in colour-at 3.5 kilometes on the east side, the report said.

When contacted Virendra Mishra, deputy commissioner of police (DCP) for the zone under which the airport falls, said investigations are on.

"At this point we aren't even sure whether what was spotted was a drone. We are looking into this," he added.
