IndiGo issues travel advisory after missiles launched towards UAE from Iran, airline says 'there may be changes to flight schedules'

IndiGo has issued a travel advisory and warned warning passengers of possible flight disruptions after the UAE's Defence Ministry has reported that it detected four cruise missiles launched from Iran towards various areas across the country. IndiGo's advisory comes amid the rapidly evolving security situation in the Middle East following a fresh escalation involving Iran and the UAE. The airline advised passengers to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport.

IndiGo's advisory amid Mideast tensions

IndiGo said its schedules may change due to regional developments. IndiGo also said passengers would receive timely updates through their registered contact details and assured that support teams remain available to assist travellers.

"Due to the evolving situation in the Middle East, there may be changes to flight schedules. Customers are advised to check their flight status before leaving for the airport. To keep you informed, timely updates are being sent on your contact details, shared during booking. Should you need any assistance, our support teams remain readily available to help. Your safety and well-being continue to guide every decision we make, and we are in constant communication with the relevant authorities to ensure safe operations," the airline tweeted.

Missiles launched towards UAE from Iran

On Monday, the UAE Defence Ministry reported that the sounds heard in scattered areas of the country are the result of successful interception of the aerial threats. UAE's National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) on social media platform X said "Air defence systems are currently responding to a missile threat. Please remain in a safe location and follow official channels for warnings and updates."

The authority also asked the people not to approach, touch or photograph any fragments or objects that have fallen as a result of successful air interceptions, and allow the relevant authorities to assess the situation.

The Authority issued a warning on Monday, the last warning was on April 8, 2026, according to their posts on X. The Ministry said that out of four cruise missiles, three were engaged successfully over the country's territorial waters, while one fell in the sea.
