IndiGo cancels all flights to and from Ranchi due to fog today

All IndiGo flights to and from Ranchi, Jharkhand, have been cancelled on Monday because of reduced visibility caused by fog, the airline said in a social media post.

It said that passengers travelling from the city could opt for to reschedule or cancel their tickets.

Several areas of Jharkhand, including Ranchi, experienced rainfall on Monday morning due to cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal. This has led to a significant change in weather patterns, with colder days ahead.



The inclement weather increased the minimum temperature by 3-4 degree Celsius. Ranchi recorded the minimum temperature at 14.5 degree Celsius, 3.7 notches above the normal on Monday.

The weather is expected to clear from December 11, which will lead to a rapid drop in temperature. Starting December 15, a significant cold wave is likely to grip the region, intensifying the chill. Residents may experience discomfort due to the freezing conditions, especially during early mornings and late evenings.
