Indian Airlines has registered a 20 per cent growth in the number of passengers carried last year over 2006 from Bahrain
"Our on-time performance has been 100 per cent. When the new aircraft join the airline's fleet, the management will consider expanding the airline's Bahrain operations further," he said.
NACIL Regional Manager of Airlines Gulf Abhay Pathak said the airline, which flies daily to Calicut and Cochin from Bahrain, has been registering a steady growth over the years.
However, he said merger of Air India with Indian Airlines will take some time to complete.
"The merger between Air India and Indian Airlines is now a reality, but it will take about two years for the process to be completed," he said at the airline's annual agents' award ceremony in Bahrain.
