The association advised pilots to maintain “heightened situational awareness” when operating to, from, or through affected regions, and to thoroughly review all operational briefings, Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs), and company advisories before undertaking flights.
Pilots have also been asked to seek explicit clarification from their operators regarding insurance coverage, particularly war-risk protection applicable to planned operations. The advisory underlined the importance of ensuring that airlines conduct appropriate operational risk assessments for flights in or near conflict zones.
