Indian Coast Guard chooper fails to take off after wheel collapse
Crew of a Chetak helicopter, belonging to the Indian Coast Guard (ICG), had a narrow escape here today, as the chopper got tilted.
"One of the wheels of our Chetak helicopter collapsed before it could take off, however no one was injured in the incident. It was a technical snag," ICG DIG A K Pokriyal told PTI.
The helicopter was going in for a flood relief operation being carried out in Valsad district of Gujarat, ICG spokesman said.
The incident occurred when pilot and co-pilot had taken out the helicopter from the hangar and were taxiing it, sources said.
The main rotor blade of the helicopter was damaged in the incident after it got tilted, they added.
