New Delhi: Gearing up to cash in on the forthcoming festive season, state-owned carrier, Indian, on Wednesday announced new initiatives, including introducing new flights, increasing frequency and marketing activities.
Beginning September 15, the airline will operate a daily flight from the Capital to the temple towns of Khajuraho and Varanasi, Indian said in a statement here.
Also, scheduled is a daily flight on the Varanasi-Kathmandu-Varanasi route, it added.
Besides, the airline has also recently effected a capacity hike by increasing frequency of flights to seven days a week in select sectors, it said.
The routes where Indian will now be flying seven days a week include the Delhi-Raipur-Vizag-Chennai sector, Chennai-Bhubaneshwar-Kolkata, Chennai-Bengalore-Chennai and Slichar-Imphal-Silchar.
Indian also said frequency from Guwahati has also been stepped up with 14 flights a week on the Kolkata-Guwahati- Kolkata sector. It has also resumed service on the Guwahati-Agartala sector by adding a new daily flight, it said
The state-owned carrier has also announced a marketing initiative offering prizes to passengers flying out or arriving into any of the six metros for the next two months. The lucky draw will be held every fortnight, it said.
