Reflecting the sentiments of average air travellers, PM Manmohan Singh asked the national carrier to focus on improving passenger services while unveiling the new look planes of the merged Air India-Indian Airlines entity here on Saturday.

NEW DELHI: Reflecting the sentiments of average air travellers, PM Manmohan Singh asked the national carrier to focus on improving passenger services while unveiling the new look planes of the merged Air India-Indian Airlines entity here on Saturday.

Observing that national airlines had so far not been able to fully capitalise on the aviation boom, he hoped the new planes will help them regain the ‘‘lost elan’’.

The PM said this at the Palam technical area while unveiling five new planes of the merged carrier, National Aviation Company of India Ltd.
