The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority of India (AERA) issued an order setting airport's baseline aggregate revenue requirement at ₹11,683.49 crore ($1.4 billion) for the 2026-2031 control period. The regulatory body drastically rationalised the tariff proposal submitted by operator GMR Hyderabad International Airport (GHIAL), which had sought ₹27,851 crore.
Under the new order, the departure fee for domestic passengers-who make up roughly 82% of total traffic at the hub-will drop to ₹515 from existing ₹750. Arriving domestic passengers will now pay ₹220.
International travellers will also see fee cuts. Departure fees will fall from ₹1,500 to ₹1,030, while arriving international passengers will be levied a ₹440 fee.
