HCL Technologies is close to signing a multi-million dollar contract in the aerospace services space.

NEW DELHI: HCL Technologies is close to signing a multi-million dollar contract in the aerospace services space. When contacted by ET, the company declined to comment on the deal. According to sources the contract, upwards of $100 million, is likely to be announced on Wednesday at the on going Paris Air Show, where HCL Technologies is a participant.

On Tuesday the IT services major expanded its relationship with Rockwell Collins, which develops and deploys communication and aviation electronics solutions. Earlier the company had inked a $15-million deal with Italy’s Alenia Aeronautica to provide engineering services for improving the C-27J Spartan tactical transport aircraft.

Aviation is a fast growing vertical for HCL Technologies. The company has about 2,000 staff, including 700-800 engineers servicing over 35 global clients in the aviation sector. The clients include Boeing, Airbus and Smits Aviation. Boeing is among its large customers with about 200 HCL aviation professionals working on various tasks. The services offered by HCL’s aerospace practice encompass embedded software, hardware design, engineering services, test equipment and applications development.

Among Indian companies taking part at the Paris Air Show are HCL, Satyam Computers and TCS, all of whom have software networking contracts with international aviation companies like Boeing and Airbus.
