HAL, Sagem to set up facilities at Hyderabad

BANGALORE: Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd has entered into a contract with France-based SAGEM for setting up manufacturing and depot level maintenance facilities for Automatic Flight Control System ( AFCS) LRUs ( Line Replacement Units)at HAL in Hyderabad.

The contract was inked at the ongoing Paris Air Show. The Transfer of Technology will enable HAL to manufacture in-house and have depot level maintenance of AFCS LRUs for Advanced Light Helicopter and Intermediate Jet Trainer platforms, a company statement said.

The facilities at Hyderabad are expected to be established in two years to cater to the Indian customers, it said.
