Govt to review IndiGo's decision to charge for seats during web check-in
IndiGo on Sunday announced that web check-in chargeable by introducing a cost for every seat.
According to the fare unbundling rules, the aviation regulator allows airlines to charge for things beyond airfares that helps airlines increase revenues.

Responding to a tweet from one of its customers, IndiGo said its passengers will have to pay for a seat to complete their Web check-in. “As per our revised policy, all seats will be chargeable for Web check-in. Alternatively, you may check-in at the airport for free. Seats will be assigned as per the availability,” the airline had said.
IndiGo is not the only carrier that has charges for all seats, when web check-in is done. Other airlines like SpiceJet also charges for all seats. GoAIR and Jet Airways does not charge for all seats. Vistara does not charge for any seat.
