Government open to privatise Air India

"NITI Aayog has made suggestions to make Air India a strong and viable airline. All course of action being examined by us. We have not closed any action," said aviation minister Ashok Gajapati Raju.

NEW DELHI: Not ruling out privatization of Air India, the aviation ministry today said that they would not rule out any option to make Air India a 'strong and viable airline.'

"NITI Aayog has made suggestions to make Air India a strong and viable airline. All course of action being examined by us. We have not closed any action," said aviation minister Ashok Gajapati Raju.

He was replying to a question on recent statements by finance minister Arun Jaitley and finance secretary Ashok Lavasa.
