GoAir inks pact with Lufthansa Technik for fleet maintenance
The contract, which comes into effect from this month, covers most of the spare parts required for the regular maintenance of A320 classic aircraft.
The contract, which comes into effect from this month, covers most of the spare parts required for the regular maintenance of A320 classic aircraft; and also that of the new A320neo aircraft, the delivery of which is expected from 2016.
Spare parts will be supplied at the airline's bases in Delhi and Mumbai, a GoAir release said, adding that maintenance and repairs of the components will be done at Lufthansa Technik facilities.
"GoAir has finalized a very important contract with Lufthansa Technik. It clearly demonstrates that GoAir is able to achieve the required safety of passengers through world class component support...," GoAir chief executive Giorgio De Roni said.
Commenting on the tie-up, Lufthansa Technik Executive Board chairman August Wilhelm Henningsen said, "Our experience in component support and also our long-lasting activities in the Indian market will help us establish the best possible technical support for their fleet."
