Manohar International Airport at Mopa will account for 28 of the additional weekly domestic flights, while Dabolim Airport will receive 56, as airlines expand services and revive seasonal routes ahead of the peak tourism period.

Goa Tourism Minister Rohan A Khaunte described the expansion as a "strong vote of confidence" in the state as a global tourism destination.

"Our strategy has been to strengthen established source markets while simultaneously opening Goa to new and high-potential markets. Connectivity from the UAE, UK, Kazakhstan, Poland and Russia gives international travellers greater choice and more convenient access to Goa," he said.

Director of Tourism Kedar Naik said the winter season was "shaping up positively" as connectivity improves.

"Strong connectivity is critical to supporting a year-round and diversified tourism economy," he said.

The expansion comes as airlines prepare their winter schedules. Air India Express has announced its largest-ever Winter Schedule 2026, with around 585 daily flights, including up to 150 international departures, covering 65 stations and 220 routes.

For Goa, the airline's winter plan includes the three-times-a-week Abu Dhabi-Mopa service and daily Dubai-Dabolim connectivity, alongside increased domestic operations.
