GMR wins Greenfield Port project in Andhra Pradesh

Revenue share payable to the goverenment of Andhra Pradesh under the bid is 2.7% of gross revenue for a period of 30 years.

GMR Infrastructure Thursday said it has made a successful bid to develop a greenfield commercial port near Kakinada.

It will be developed into an all-weather, deep draft, multi-cargo port.

The port is located at one of the nodes of the Vizag Chennai Industrial Corridor and is expected to benefit from the associated corridor developments.


Once operational, the port will have an initial capacity of 16 million tons.

Revenue share payable to the government of Andhra Pradesh under the bid is 2.7% of gross revenue for a period of 30 years.

The Kakinada Special Investment Region (KSIR) is being developed as a port based multi-product special investment region.

The port would be spread over 1,950 acres while the industrial park spreads over 8,500 acres.
