From tomorrow, use phone as a ticket on Airport Line

A QR ticket can be bought by selecting the origin and destination stations along with the number of passengers.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will be introducing QR code based ticketing facility for travel on Airport Express Line from Sunday.

With this facility, commuter’s using the Airport Express Line will be able to use the code generated on their smart phones as ticket, instead of smart cards or tokens, a DMRC spokesperson said.

The system will enable passengers to purchase tickets using ‘Ridlr App’ without physically coming to the station. They only need to download the application, which is available on both android and iOS platforms, and register.


A QR ticket can be bought by selecting the origin and destination stations along with the number of passengers. After the payment, the app will display the code, which could be used as tickets.

The Airport Line stations even have QR-enabled entry and exit gates for commuters. “All six stations have been provided with a set of two AFC gates for entry and exit through QRenabled system,” a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation spokesperson said.
