Fani: DGCA shuts Bhubaneshwar/Kolkata airports

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered cancellation of all flights to and from Bhubaneswar and Kolkata airports due to cyclone Fani.

In a statement today, DGCA said that all airlines and Operators are informed to cancel flights due to approaching severe cyclonic storm Fani.

“All flights to and from Bhubaneswar are cancelled from 100 hours till till 2359 IST on Friday. Flights in and out of Kolkata airport are canceled from 2130 IST on Friday till 1800 IST on Saturday,” read a statement from the aviation regulator.


The statement added that the resumption of flights will be with positive clearance from the respective Air Traffic Control.

Meanwhile, airlines have separately announced cancellation of flights and waiver of cancellation charges.
