EVA Air plans flights to Taiwan, Taipei

Taiwanese airline EVA Air, which earlier operated freighters from Mumbai, is planning scheduled passenger flights to Taipei, Taiwan from Mumbai starting Monday.

MUMBAI: Taiwanese airline EVA Air, which earlier operated freighters from Mumbai, is planning scheduled passenger flights to Taipei, Taiwan from Mumbai starting Monday. The new non-stop service will be thrice a week on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays using B747 combis.

Taj SATS Air Catering, a JV between Indian Hotels, which operates the Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, and Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS), has acquired the catering contract for serving in-flights meals for EVA Air from Mumbai for its outbound passengers.

EVA Air, owned by the Evergreen group, a large shipping company serving over 40 destinations throughout Asia, Australia, New Zealand, North America and Europe.

The carrier’s passenger operations serve 30 airports with a fleet of B747-400s, B747 Combi, B767-200s and MD-11 aircraft.
