Etihad Airways to start recruitment drive for cabin crew in India

NEW DELHI: Etihad Airways, which has been hiring pilots from Air India and Jet Airways over the past few months, on Friday announced the launch of its recruitment drive for cabin crew.

"In Mumbai, we will be inviting up to 600 of the best candidates who meet our stringent criteria to attend the recruitment days," said Aubrey Tiedt, Etihad Airways' vice president of Guest Services.

The opportunities available are for cabin crew, food and beverage managers and qualified inflight chefs. Etihad said in a statement that candidates should drop off their CV at the Hyatt Regency, Mumbai on Saturday, May 10.

Candidates can also register for the recruitment days in advance by visiting the airline’s career website.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to the recruitment days on Sunday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 13 in Mumbai.

"To support the rapid, dynamic expansion of Etihad Airways, we are delighted to host our recruitment drive in India, a strategically important market for the airline," said Tiedt. "Our team hails from more than 110 nationalities and enjoys great career development opportunities."

Already, more than 2,145 Indian nationals work for the airline of which 1,549 are core staff, 548 are cabin crew and 48 are pilots.

The hired cabin crew will all be based in Abu Dhabi and will be provided medical insurance, housing support and access to leisure, sports and entertainment activities.

Etihad completed the transaction to purchase 24% stake in Jet Airways for Rs 2,060 crore, currently serves a total of 10 Indian cities including Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mumbai, New Delhi, Trivandrum and the recently launched route to Jaipur.
