DGCA to conduct a fare audit on 20 routes to ascertain seats sold on higher fare bucket
There is a lot of complaints on airlines charging high fares. Recently, MPs have also complained about airlines charging higher fares.
The regulator will ask the airlines to furnish the amount of revenues earned through these highest bucket seats.
"We are trying to ascertain the amount of tickets airlines are selling in the highest fare bucket. Based on the response, we will ale a call," said a senior DGCA official, who did not want to be identified.
