DGCA registers Amol Yadav’s aircraft, finally

MUMBAI: After a delay of six years, the DGCA has finally registered Amol Yadav’s six-seater aircraft. The registration was done on November 17.

ET had reported on October 12 how the DGCA, India’s aviation regulator dragged its feet for six years over Yadav’s aircraft. In fact the regulator kept dragging its feet in spite of the intervention of the Prime Minister’s Office ( PMO) on the issue.

The PMO was brought in by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis who had personally briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue. After ET’s October 12 story, Fadnavis wrote a letter to the PMO highlighting how Yadav’s project would get the country its first 19-seater passenger planes. The Chief Minister wrote that the DGCA ‘was doing a mockery of the system’.

The PMO is learnt to have then hauled up the DGCA for dragging their feet on the issue and asked officials to clear the project as per procedure. “ I feel happy that the registration has been done. I would like to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for helping me out in the issue. Now i can make preparations on flying my six-seater aircraft,” said Yadav while speaking to ET.

Kaustubh Dhavse, OSD to Fadnavis who also played a crucial role in the project said that with the DGCA registering aircraft they would soon initiate the process of handing over the land to Yadav.
