DGCA issues warning letter to IndiGo over December 2025 fares
India's largest airline, IndiGo, has come under the scrutiny of the DGCA, which has issued a formal notice concerning fare levels set in December 2025. This month was marked by government-imposed caps on domestic fares. In a swift response, IndiGo...
The regulator’s letter, received on April 21, 2026, relates to a period when the government had temporarily capped domestic airfares. The airline said it has already addressed the issue. It has refunded passengers who were charged more than the capped fares and taken corrective steps to align with the rules.
The warning does not come with any penalty or restrictions. IndiGo also said the matter will not have any meaningful impact on its finances or day-to-day operations.
The DGCA, however, has asked the airline to be more careful and strictly follow government pricing orders in the future.
