DGCA has sought proceedings against 11 officials: Ajit Singh

NEW DELHI: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation ( DGCA) has sought imposition of major penalty proceedings against 11 of its officers for violation of rules, the government informed the Lok Sabha today.

In reply to a question, Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh said the DGCA had sought proceedings "for violation of the Central Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964."

Singh's reply also named eleven officers against whom the DGCA wanted proceedings.

Joint Director Generals Charan Das and A K Sharan along with Director level officers V P Massey, R S Passi and C P M P Raju were among the officers named by the Aviation Minister.

Deputy Director General R K Khanna, Assistant Directors M M Kaushal and Rajiv Gaur, Junior Pilot B S Nehra, Senior Air Worthiness officer R K Yadav and Private Secretary T S Gopinath were the other officers whose names Singh disclosed in his reply.

"Action has been initiated for consideration of the recommendations of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation under the extant rules and regulations of the government before making a reference to the Central Vigilance Commission for their first stage advice," Singh said.
