DGCA gives aerodrome license to Shirdi airport
The Rs 350 crore airport, spread over 400 hectares would be owned by the state-controlled Maharashtra Airport Development Company.
The airport is located at Kakdi village, about 14 km South-west of the town Shirdi.

The airport would likely push religious tourism, also at a time when the government is pushing religions connectivity at low airfares.
Shirdi is known for the temple of the saint Sai Baba. Close to 100,000 devotees visit the temple daily from various parts of India and across the world.
