The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) confirmed the cyclone’s formation, prompting the cancellation of two IndiGo flights. One flight from Chennai to Mangaluru and another from Chennai to Trichy were called off. The return flights from Mangaluru and Trichy to Chennai were also cancelled. The flight to Mangaluru was scheduled to leave Chennai at 7:25 PM, while the Trichy flight was set to depart at 8:50 PM. Both return flights were expected around 11:10 PM and 11:30 PM, respectively.

IndiGo issued a travel advisory, informing passengers that the poor weather was affecting flights to and from Chennai, including those to Trichy, Tuticorin, Madurai, Tirupati, and Visakhapatnam. Passengers were advised to check their flight status online for updates.

Additionally, five Air India Express flights were cancelled, including those to Coimbatore, Bhubaneshwar, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Pune.
