China yet to give access to Jet Airways

NEW DELHI: Jet Airways will have to wait for some more time before starting operations to China as Beijing on Wednesday said some technical problems are being sorted out.

"Of course, there are some technical problems which are being discussed," Chinese Ambassador to India Zhang Yan said.

"The government of both sides and competent authorities are discussing these things. There is some progress and some more progress will be seen in this regard," he said.

Speaking at a seminar here on "A Road to Chinese Market", the envoy observed that both sides attached a great deal of importance to the civil aviation cooperation.

Asked if there was any time-frame for the access to be given to the Jet Airways, Yan said "this depends on the consultation process on the subject between the two sides".
