Domestic passenger flight operations from Chennai airport, which were suspended, will resume from tomorrow morning.

NEW DELHI: Domestic passenger flight operations from Chennai airport, which were suspended, will resume from tomorrow morning.

The runway, however, will be available only for day-time operations and a decision regarding full-fledged operations will be taken by the aviation regulator DGCA, Airports Authority of India said tonight.

"Day-time all weather operations for domestic commercial flights from Chennai airport will commence from 6 am tomorrow," the AAI said in a statement.

The AAI had decided to shut the airport till December 6 in the wake of battering rains that left the facility unusable.

"DGCA will review the situation for night operations tomorrow," the statement said.

The AAI had yesterday declared teh runway fit for operating technical ferry and relief flights after an inspection by its staff.
