Centre clears Sahnewal airport: Badal
Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal on Sunday said that the Union Government had given a clearance to the Sahnewal (Ludhiana) airport for starting domestic flights.
He said that flights from Sahnewal would start within a period of three months.
He told reporters that Bathinda airport had also been cleared. This would meet a long standing demand of the state, he added.
Squarely blaming the congress led UPA government at the Centre for "spiralling prices", he said that the Union Government had failed on the economic front. "Its policies have proved totally unsuccessful in controlling the prices", he added.
In reply to a question, Badal exuded confidence that in the next Lok Sabha elections whenever they are held, the BJP led NDA would sweep to power.
