BookMyJet app launched for booking private business jet, helicopters

As demand for charter flights zoom post COVID, a new platform to book business jet flights called BookMyJet has been launched today, which promises to take business jet business to smaller cities of the country and bring in transparency in pricing of business jets.

“…due to unavailability of any reliable information about the private jet or helicopter in Tier-2 & Tier-3 cities like Bhopal, Indore, Raipur, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Rajkot, Baroda, Madurai, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi, etc., the flyers opt for alternate mode of transportation, though they have the capacity of hiring a chartered plane. BookMyJet provides answers to all the above points,” Santosh K Sharma, founder of BookMyJet said in a statement.

During COVID, a large number of bookings were made from smaller cities, as people preferred to fly private due to the pandemic and some of them were also medical flights. There were complaints that passengers had to pay much higher rates due to various reasons, including unavailability of business jets at smaller city airports.


If a passenger in Ranchi books a flight to come to Delhi and the aircraft is to be brought from Delhi to ferry the passenger, payments will have to be made for the flight being brought from Delhi to Ranchi too.

Sharma said that India has seen a rise in the induction of large numbers of private jets in the last 7-8 years especially in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Chennai & Kolkata.

“Many corporate houses went ahead and bought their own private jets for their own flying and rent it out too. What has, however, been missing in the general aviation market is an element of transparency pertaining to availability and pricing of the aircraft. As a result, the clients either land up flying a wrong aircraft or paying more,” Sharma said, adding that these issues would be addressed by this app.

Sharma added that BookMyJet intends to add more aircraft and helicopters, not just in India but also from other parts of Middle East, South East Asia & Europe markets in times to come.
