Bengaluru airport rejigs vehicle lanes

There are separate routes for vehicle drop-offs and pick-ups. The airport says this will facilitate smooth movement of vehicles.

BENGALURU: With the number of vehicles visiting the Kempegowda international airport at Bengaluru rising by the day, the airport authorities have introduced segregated vehicular movement for cabs moving in and out of the airport.

There are separate routes for vehicle drop-offs and pick-ups. The airport says this will facilitate smooth movement of vehicles.

The routes designed to achieve the segregation will prevent traffic bottlenecks within the airport and, the authorities have requested vehicles users to stick to the designated routes while dropping and picking up passengers. This new route is meant only for cabs and self-driven cars.

Changes to the new routes are aligned with the Departure and Arrival Gates for ease of movement, the airport said in a press release.

Vehicles coming in to receive passengers and heading towards arrival need to continue straight instead of turning left at the main access road.
