ATF futures down 3.50 pc
Aviation Turbine Fuel prices plunged 3.50 per cent at Rs 6,610 per barrel in the domestic futures market.
ATF is a special type of petroleum product, used in airlines.
Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) for the far-month August contract tumbled by 3.50 per cent to Rs 6,610 per barrel with a business volume of one bbl.
However, near-month July contract traded a shade higher by 0.27 per cent to Rs 6,585 per barrel after rising to Rs 6,605 per barrel, clocking a business volume of 79 bbls.
Traders said demand concerns as several airlines are canceling flights to minimise financial burden due to rise in crude oil prices mainly influenced the ATF prices.
Crude soared to record high of 147.27 US dollar a barrel on July 11.
Meanwhile, on Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) crude oil rose 130 yen at 88,680 yen a kilolitre, while gained 81 cents at 126.30 US dollar a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
