Ashok Lavasa to take charge as aviation secretary in January

Ashok Lavasa, an IAS officer from the 1980 batch of the Haryana cadre, has been appointed as the next secretary for the civil aviation ministry.

NEW DELHI: Ashok Lavasa, an IAS officer from the 1980 batch of the Haryana cadre, has been appointed as the next secretary for the civil aviation ministry, three people in the know of the development told ET.

“The order has been issued for Lavasa to take charge after KN Srivastava retires on December 31 and an official announcement will be made in a few days,” said one of the persons familiar with the matter. The appointment order signed by BP Sharma, secretary of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, was issued late on December 23, a copy of which was reviewed by ET.
