NEW DELHI: Mr Ashok Chawla, 1973 batch IAS officer, Gujarat cadre, will be the new civil aviation secretary, sources said. He will replace the current incumbent, Mr Ajay Prasad, who is scheduled to retire by this month end.

Sources divulge that PM Manmohan Singh cleared the name of Ashok Chawla to take over the reins at Ministry of Civil Aviation.
