Air bubble arrangements
Scheduled international passenger services have been suspended in India since March 23, 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic. But special international flights have been operating under the Vande Bharat Mission since May and under bilateral "air bubble" arrangements with selected countries since July.

Ban on international flights extended
Also, the government on May 28 extended the ban on international flights by a month till June 28, but exempted limited international flights under the bubble arrangement. "India has finalized an air bubble agreement with Sri Lanka, making it the 6th such arrangement in the SAARC region and the 28th in total," the Civil Aviation Ministry said on Twitter in April.
