The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has barred an Army officer from flying with Indian carriers for five years after he allegedly assaulted a SpiceJet staffer at Srinagar airport, reported ANI.

The incident took place earlier this month when the officer, reportedly upset over boarding-related issues, physically assaulted a ground staff member of the airline. Following an internal inquiry, the matter was referred to the DGCA.
