Akasa Air to start Mumbai-Kozhikode flights from Oct 1

Akasa Air added Kozhikode (Calicut) as the 30th destination to its network, expanding its presence across Kerela. The airline will operate daily direct flights between Mumbai and Kozhikode starting October 1, the airline announced on Friday.

"We are delighted to add Kozhikode as the 30th destination on our network, marking a milestone in Akasa Air’s growth story, and expanding our connectivity in Kerala," Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder of Akasa Air said.


"Our daily Mumbai–Kozhikode service will not only enhance connectivity between India’s commercial capital and the Malabar coast but also act as a catalyst for trade, tourism, and economic opportunities," he added.

The airline has placed an order of 226 Boeing 737 MAX airplanes, currently operating a fleet of 30 737 MAX aircraft.

Akasa Air currently connects with 24 domestic and six international cities, namely Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Guwahati, Agartala, Pune, Lucknow, Goa, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Sri Vijaya Puram, Ayodhya, Gwalior, Srinagar, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Darbhanga, Kozhikode, Doha (Qatar), Jeddah, Riyadh (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Abu Dhabi (UAE) Kuwait City (Kuwait) and Phuket (Thailand).
