All Akasa Air flights to and from Delhi are now operating from Terminal 1 (1D) until further notice.
Akasa Air is working with airport authorities to ensure passengers are aware of the change and have a seamless boarding experience. The airline is also actively communicating with customers regarding this change to keep them informed.
To further plan the travel process, passengers are encouraged to use Akasa Air’s online check-in facilities, available at www.akasaair.com and through the Akasa Air mobile app.
Earlier, IndiGo had announced that effective April 15, all its flights arriving to and departing from Terminal 2 of Delhi Airport will operate to and from Terminal 1.
Only IndiGo and Akasa Air were operating flights from Terminal 2, which has been in operation for nearly 40 years. From April 15, flight operations from T2 have completely shifted to T1.
DIAL noted that the expanded Terminal 1 can accommodate 40 million passengers annually, while Terminal 3 can handle 45 million passengers. In contrast, Terminal 2 has an annual capacity of 15 million passengers.
T1 faces technical issues
On Tuesday, Passengers flying in and out of Indira Gandhi International Airport’s Terminal 1 faced delays and inconvenience after a technical issue disrupted the check-in process.Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) issued a passenger advisory acknowledging the disruption, on the very first day of shifting operations from Terminal 2, which is shut for maintenance work.
"We experienced a technical issue at T1 check-in. Our teams along with stakeholders are resolving it and operations are normalising. We regret the inconvenience caused," the airport said.
