Noida’s newly built Jewar International Airport begins commercial flight operations from today
Akasa Air on Tuesday commenced commercial operations from Noida International Airport (NIA), becoming one of the first carriers to launch services from the greenfield airport and further strengthening its presence in the National Capital Region (NCR), the airline said in a release.

The airline launched flights connecting Noida with Navi Mumbai, with the inaugural service departing Navi Mumbai International Airport at 7:25 am and landing at Noida at 9:35 am. The return flight departed Noida at 10:15 am and arrived in Navi Mumbai at 12:30 pm.

The move marks a significant milestone in Akasa Air’s network expansion strategy as it seeks to deepen its footprint in one of India’s largest aviation markets while capitalising on emerging airport infrastructure.

“The commencement of operations from Noida International Airport marks an important milestone in Akasa Air’s growth journey,” said Anand Srinivasan, co-founder and chief commercial officer at Akasa Air.

“As one of India’s newest aviation gateways, the airport offers significant opportunities to enhance connectivity for travellers across the National Capital Region and neighbouring states,” he said.

Srinivasan added that the airline’s early presence at Noida aligns with its long-term strategy of building a strong network across key growth markets while supporting the development of modern aviation infrastructure.

Akasa Air’s entry is expected to bolster connectivity from the newly operational airport, which is positioning itself as a key aviation hub for northern India and an alternative gateway for the Delhi-NCR region.

“Akasa Air's arrival at Noida International Airport is an important step in expanding connectivity for our passengers and the region we serve,” said Christoph Schnellmann, vice chairman of Noida International Airport.

“As one of the first airlines operating from the airport, Akasa Air will help create new travel opportunities and greater choice for passengers,” he added.

The airline said the launch from Noida further strengthens its northern India network and supports its strategy of investing in aviation hubs that offer strong demand potential and operational efficiencies.

In addition to flight operations, Akasa Air will establish a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility within the airport premises. The facility will support a broad range of aircraft maintenance activities and is aimed at improving operational efficiency and safety standards.
