Akasa Air on Wednesday announced that it is ramping up its presence in the domestic and international skies with a major expansion under its Summer 2026 schedule.

Compared to the previous year's summer schedule, the airline is set to record a 22% increase in departures and a 37% rise in Available Seat Kilometres (ASKm). Compared with the winter schedule, departures will increase by 6% and ASKm by 9%, the company said in a statement.

Anand Srinivasan, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, said the airline’s Summer 2026 schedule reflects the evolving patterns of demand across India’s aviation sector. “Demand is no longer limited to traditional metro corridors but increasingly being driven by emerging and regional markets,” he said.

Akasa Air is growing in western India through Navi Mumbai International Airport. New routes will connect Navi Mumbai with Lucknow twice daily, while flights to Varanasi will also increase to two daily departures.

From the national capital, Delhi departures will rise 50% year-on-year, with frequencies on the high-demand Delhi–Mumbai corridor increasing to five daily flights.

In the east, Kolkata is emerging as a major gateway, with a new daily service from Navi Mumbai and an overall 22% increase in departures compared with last year.

Bengaluru continues to play a pivotal role in the south, with new connectivity to Darbhanga and an additional daily frequency to Bhubaneswar.

Internationally, the airline will expand departures to its six Middle East destinations, including Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh.
