Akasa Air's Chief Commercial Officer Praveen Iyer who is also one of the co-founders has put in his papers, marking a second high-level exit at the three-year-old airline.

Iyer is among the founding team of Akasa Air, which started flying in August 2022. He was also one of the executive committee members of the airline.

The airline has appointed Chief Information Officer Anand Srinivasan as the new commercial head

Last year, Akasa saw the exit of another co-founder Neelu Khatri, who headed international operations.

The airline is backed by the late Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s family and raised a fresh capital raised in August 2025 from family offices of Wipro founder Azim Premji and Ranjan Pai.

Iyer’s comes at a moment when the airline had started to ramp up expansion after a period of sluggish growth as aircraft manufacturer Boeing was unable to deliver aircraft on time. The airline has inducted three aircraft this year and plans to add around 12 more planes this year.
