The airline aims to get five more planes in the current fiscal year, making it a 35-fleet airline. To meet the human resource demand of the expansion plan, the young airline plans to have 770-775 pilots by year-end. This involves flying pilots as well as pilots under training.
The airline is focused on cost leadership in the aviation sector as it is working on reducing unit cost in the current fiscal year.
Akasa Air has placed an order for Boeing 737-10 aircraft with 227 seating capacity. The company expects the delivery of these aircraft by 2027.
For now, the company is adding more 197-seater aircraft for capacity building as it currently operates on a fleet of 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
To meet regional demands, Akasa Air deployed 1/4th capacity in Uttar Pradesh market during Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, Goel stated.
Akasa Air's financial growth is also supported by its expanding ancillary revenue ecosystem. With nearly 100,000 tonnes of cargo carried by March 2025, ancillary revenue will remain a key pillar of the airline’s revenue strategy as it continues to scale.
The company's CFO also said that the company's cargo and other ancillary services are profitable, which helps the airline to provide lower base fares to passengers.
One of the key pillars supporting Akasa Air’s financial strategy is its expanding ancillary revenue ecosystem. The airline expanded its ancillary portfolio during the year and now offers a slew of over 25+ ancillary products, which generate additional revenue and play a critical role in building a more resilient and diversified business model. With nearly 100,000 tonnes of cargo carried by March 2025, Akasa emerged as an emerging force in India’s cargo landscape, a function that will remain a key pillar of the airline’s revenue strategy as it continues to scale.
