Airports Authority of India ties up with Ola, Uber

As part of this strategic alliance, both Ola and Uber will fulfil commuting demand of passengers at the AAI-run Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Lucknow and Bhubaneswar airports.

BENGALURU: Homegrown cab hailing application Ola has entered into a strategic alliance with the Airport Authority of India (AAI) by setting up designated Ola zones and kiosks, at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, Chennai International Airport, Pune International Airport, and Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow.

According to the company, the partnership will enable Ola driver partners to park their vehicles at a designated area, bringing down the estimated time of arrival to as low as two minutes. The Ola zones will serve as designated pick up and drop off points and the kiosks will be manned by Ola representatives to enable commuters who do not own a smartphone or the Ola app on their phone to book a cab.

“This strategic alliance with Airport Authority of India, assures a hassle free mobility experience for millions of passengers in these four cities. Ola's endeavour is to make travel more accessible and hassle free for its customers and our partnerships with key public transit points in the transportation space such as airports, railways, and metro authorities are a testament to that effect,” said Saurabh Mishra, director of alliances at Ola.

According to the company, the first Ola zone was set up in Kempegowda International airport in Bengaluru during May 2016. Most recently in February 2017, Ola zones and kiosks were set up at Swami Vivekananda airport in Raipur.
