Airports Authority of India management contracts for Kolkata, Chennai among four airports

NEW DELHI: The government has decided to award airports in Kolkata, Chennai, Jaipur and Ahmedabad on management contract, junking its earlier plan to privatise these airports by the end of this fiscal.

The Airports Authority of India has issued Request for Qualification document for these four airports.The earlier plan was to award Jaipur and Ahmedabad airports on public-private partnership mode and the rest on management contract.The privatisation of these airports is also part of the draft civil aviation policy currently being discussed.
